Rachel's Award Ceremony

We attended Rachel's award ceremony that they start in 2nd grade. Rachel won awards in math and reading and won the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. She earned in the highest category, which just a small handful of kids received, and got a t-shirt, bumper sticker and certificate. Her first comments to us after the ceremony was (in a sarcastic, shocked tone)..."My certificate has Obama's signature on it." Yes, she's reflecting our unfavorable feelings.

Track and Field Day
Rachel's team won 1st place in the 400m relay.

Daddy's Birthday
We celebrated on Sunday since Steven was working and had an Elder's Quorum move after work til late on Monday. The kids decorated the cake with random candles. Notice Rachel's new summer haircut. (So I wrote this past-tense earlier in the day. Steven's EQ move was canceled but he was still at work until after 9PM-not fair! Good thing we did the celebrating early.)
